Organic Buckwheat is a nutritious, naturally wheat-free ingredient that is commonly used as an alternative to rice. Grown and packed on the Daman family farm, on the north-west coast of Tasmania. Despite the name, buckwheat groats are not actually a grain, but a fruit seed that is related to rhubarb. Organic buckwheat has a distinctive nutty flavour and can be cooked and served in a similar way to rice. Buckwheat is rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is a natural source of protein.
